This update includes a new feature that allows you to automatically fill your folders with opened GitHub issues, pull requests or RSS feeds. To add a live folder, click the + button in the sidebar and select 'Live Folder'.

This update includes a new setting to allow users who didn't like the window sync feature but still want to sync their pinned tabs across windows in a workspace to do so. Make sure window sync is enabled in about:config for this feature to work.

This update includes window sync and other nice improvements! Window sync is a way to keep your windows organized across multiple monitors. If you want a blank window, you can do so by using opt+cmd+N (for mac), ctrl+alt+N (for linux) and alt+N (for windows). Enjoy!

Create a folder from the sidebar with the plus (+) button, give it a name, then drag and drop tabs inside. Right–click a folder to rename or delete it, and rearrange them anytime to keep projects or saved links in order. Folders have been one of the most requested features since Zen’s launch, and they’re finally here.

Since Firefox 139.0 had some rendering issues on Windows for NVIDIA users, we waited an extra day to release this update to ensure the issues were resolved.

We are also excited to announce that we've joined floss.social!

In response to recent privacy concerns, we've significantly strengthened Zen's privacy measures. Previously, we only disabled telemetry, but some minimal pings were still being sent. Now, Firefox telemetry has been completely stripped out from the core.

Additionally, onboarding pages and initial Essentials favicons are now locally bundled and our website no longer relies on any external services, CDNs, nor Cloudflare services. Initial Essentials selected on startup will only be loaded when the tab is clicked on, so connections won't be established until you explicitly enter the tab. We also changed our onboarding Essentials options to more privacy and productivity focused sites.

Only critical security updates and other non-telemetry-related services remain. As a result, the number of external connections has dropped from 82 to around 20-10 — factoring in that Zen's site is loaded twice (for the welcome page and privacy policy).

This release brings some quality of life improvements and new features to Zen Browser! First thing you would notice, pinned tabs look like normal tabs now. Why? Because we added 'essentials'.

Essentials are a new way to manage your tabs, workspaces and pinned tabs. You can now have pinned tabs your workspace, and essentials will be the only tabs that are not workspace specific.

We've also started to experiment with new layouts and designs for the browser, and we've added a more native look to the browser!
